RATP Dev Celebrates Bombela Operating Company’s Train Operator of the Year Award
RATP Dev announced that its South African subsidiary, Bombela Operating Company (BOC), has been awarded the prestigious Train Operator of the Year award at the inaugural Rail Industry Awards.
Bombela Operating Company (BOC) operates and maintains the Gautrain, a high-speed train connecting OR Tambo Airport, Johannesburg, and Pretoria. Launched in 2010, the Gautrain is a landmark project, which became a benchmark in terms of successful public-private partnership. Fourteen years on, it continues to symbolize excellence and the ambitions of the mobility sector for South Africa.
This distinction is a testament to the dedication and expertise of BOC’s over 2,100 direct and indirect employees, who ensure the seamless day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Gautrain. To date, the Gautrain has completed over 192 million passenger trips with over 90% availability and punctuality. The award highlights BOC’s commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and contribution to future mobility.
