NGE, France’s top 4 construction Group, won phase 1 of West Link rail project in Gothenburg, 2 nd largest city in Sweden

NGE, through its subsidiary TSO, in collaboration with Infranord AB, the Swedish leader in railway system construction, has won phase 1 of the railway package for the West Link (Västlänken) project, serving downtown Gothenburg.

NGE, France’s top 4 construction Group, won phase 1 of West Link rail project in Gothenburg, 2 nd largest city in Sweden

The project was awarded by Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration. TSO and Infranord AB will work on this major project for Gothenburg in an integrated joint venture to address the growing need for sustainable mobility and increased urban transport capacity.

The West Link line is one of the projects in the national plan 2014 – 2025 decided by the Swedish government for the development of their transport system. Once fully operational, the line will connect the intercity railway network (freight and passenger) to the city center and will include three new stations in Gothenburg (Göteborg Central, Haga, and Korsvägen). This new infrastructure is a prerequisite for the development of train traffic in Western Sweden, as more travels and transports can take place by rail across the country.

Phase 1, carried out by TSO and Infranord AB, includes the construction of all railway systems including track, overhead lines equipment, power supply, high low voltage systems, telecommunications, and signaling over 7 km, as well as remodeling works at the connection points between the future line and the existing railway network.

TSO, with its extensive experience in major urban railway infrastructure projects worldwide (France, Egypt, Mexico, Panama, Uruguay, UK…), will bring its expertise in concrete tracks and rigid overhead lines as NGE's railway subsidiary.

" Our entry into the transport infrastructure sector in Sweden marks an important milestone in the global ambitions of the NGE Group. We are also extremely pleased to initiate our collaboration with Infranord. This partnership represents a unique opportunity to combine our expertise to develop a sustainable and innovative transport system in Sweden's second-largest city. This project highlights our commitment to responsible mobility and our ability to effectively address the challenges of modern infrastructure,"
Orso Vesperini, Senior Executive VP International of NGE.

“We look forward to building this new and modern railway facility as part of the West Link, which will improve accessibility throughout the region of Gothenburg. Thanks to our collaboration with TSO, we were able to offer a comprehensive, high-quality solution. I look forward to combining the expertise that TSO brings from international projects with our earlier experiences from successfully building other parts of the West Link and our employee’s high competence in building complex railway solutions" Stefan Gustavsson, CEO of Infranord AB.
