ANDRITZ to deliver wheel heat treatment line to CAF MiiRA
International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from CAF MiiRA, Spain, to supply a wheel heat treatment line for the customer’s location in Beasain, Spain.
The new plant has been designed for train wheels with diameters of approximately 500 to 1,500 mm. Production is scheduled to begin at the plant in the first quarter of 2024.
The scope of supply comprises chain conveyors, manipulators, high-temperature pusher-type kilns, transport system for the pusher cars, tilting table, safety engineering, automation and visualization equipment.
The ANDRITZ heat treatment line for wheels enables automated and flexible operation and the production of small series in superior, reproducible and constant quality. The ANDRITZ pusher-type kilns feature highest energy efficiency in conjunction with heat recovery to heat the combustion air.
The ANDRITZ scope of supply comprises the engineering work, delivery of all mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as supervision of installation and start-up of the line.
