RCL-RUS shifts newspaper to the rails for the very first time
Together with TransContainer and OOCL Logistics (Russia) Limited, Rail Cargo Logistics - RUS is now transporting newspaper from Karelia to China by rail instead of by sea for the very first time.
Up to now, newspapers from Karelia Pulp LLC, the largest exporter of newsprint in Russia, have always been exported by sea. However, due to the current disruptions to transit times, the Russian manufacturer has shifted its exports to the railways for the very first time.
62 containers with a total weight of around 1.6 thousand tonnes were sent from Nigozero station in Karelia to Chongqing in China on a journey of more than 7,000 kilometres.
