Rail Baltica is a major trans-European railway infrastructure project designed to integrate the Baltic States into the European rail network with a new, high-speed, standard-gauge line. The project connects Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland, forming a strategic transport corridor from North to Central Europe. Managed by RB Rail AS, the initiative promotes sustainable mobility, regional economic growth, and logistics modernization by enabling both passenger and freight transport. Rail Baltica is among the largest infrastructure investments in the region, targeting full EU interoperability and contributing to the development of a unified, environmentally friendly transport ecosystem in the region.

Rail Baltica cooperation with Poland being strengthened

To reinforce the close partnership with Poland and one of the key strategic partners of Rail Baltica – PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., a tripartite letter of intent was signed between the global project coordinator in Baltic states and delivery organization RB Rail AS, national implementing body in Lithuania LTG Infra and the Polish railway infrastructure manager on implementation of Rail Baltica corridor in the Polish/Lithuanian border section at technical and operational level.

Development of requirements for the 2nd-second stage of the Rail Baltica mainline construction procurement in Latvia announced is completed, and qualified candidates are invited to submit technical and financial offers. This milestone marks a significant step that has been taken so that the Rail Baltica mainline construction in Latvia can be started in 2023.
