VR-Group Plc has 21 December 2022 made its procurement decision in its public procurement regarding the night train fleet. The contract is awarded to Škoda Transtech Ltd.
VR procures 20 electric multiple unit trains from Stadler. The trains will be put into service in spring 2026. The procurement also includes options to order 50 more trains from Stadler as well as maintenance services for the trains. The value of the procurement without options is approximately 250 million euros.

The first new Dr19 locomotive has arrived in Finland and is now starting extensive test runs. The tests ensure the functionality of the locomotive on the Finnish railway network. VR Group has ordered 60 new diesel locomotives from Stadler. They will mainly be used in freight traffic. The first new locomotives will be introduced into commercial traffic in 2023.
